Who We Serve

We serve EMTs, firefighters, paramedics, police officers, dispatchers and public safety professionals for several agencies across Texas and Minnesota. Emergency Ministries provides specialized Chaplains and training to assist our Heroes in dealing with the variety of emotions that come along with the job giving them the tools to deal with such issues as critical incident stress, cumulative stress, anxiety, depression and in some instances, substance abuse.

What is a Public Safety Chaplain

A public Safety Chaplain is a specially trained person who responds to the unique needs and challenges of public safety personnel with a reassuring and trustworthy presence. While it’s hard not to see how stress and trauma could negatively affect one’s work performance, many of our first responders take their work home. A Chaplain may provide marital, emotional, and spiritual support to the first responder and/or their family.

Stress Mitigation

While it's not hard to see how stress and trauma could negatively affect one’s work performance, many of our first responders “take their work home,” and negative feelings can very easily bleed into their relationships with their spouses, children, and family. We understand that it’s difficult to separate yourself from your feelings and “turn it off” at the end of the day.

Welcome to Emergency Ministries

Emergency Ministries provides Chaplaincy service to EMS, Fire, Paramedic and Police agencies on-scene and “behind scene” with an emphasis is on Critical Incident Stress mitigation. The services offered by Emergency Ministries are without regard to religious affiliation (or lack thereof). We have sat down (sometimes on the scene) with these everyday heroes on issues involving things such as; fatalities involving children, multiple fatality accidents, deaths of co-workers, marital problems, substance abuse issues and the like.

Our Mission

“To come alongside first-responders who experience extraordinary human events daily and to offer them emotional and spiritual support services.”

About Us

Emergency Ministries is a group of specially trained Chaplains who respond to the needs of our first responder community. Founded in December of 1998, we became incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the State of Texas in 2000 and received our 501.c.3 non-profit status from the IRS in August of 2000. One very specific requirement to become an Emergency Ministries Chaplain is to have “Worn the Badge.” This means that each of our Chaplains has served as a first responder as is or has been an EMT, Firefighter, Paramedic or Police Officer. It is vital to the success of our mission that the Heroes we engage know they are sitting across from someone who truly “Has been there, has done that,” and knows where they have been and what they have seen.
